Celebrating 100 Years for the Weimaraner

The Weimaraner Erinnerungsbuch *** 1897-1997 , a memory book for the breed by Deborah G. Andrews, details the historic and exciting celebrations of the 100 year Anniversary of the Weimaraner Klub e.V. Breed related events hosted by the German Klub were conducted in and around Weimar, Germany from September 4th-7th, 1997.

As one of the organizers of the international gathering,
Mrs. Andrews thought it appropriate to record the historic events during the 4-day jubilee. Requests were made of International Weimaraner Club Delegates and honored guests to send their comments and photos to Deborah and her colleague, Brigitta Guggolz, for the purposes of creating a Weimaraner Memory Yearbook. The contributions to their efforts were overwhelming!!

Divisions Two through Six cover the various centenary events as they occurred throughout that early September 1997 weekend. Weimar's Lord Mayor Dr. Volkhardt Germer and Honorary President of the Weimaraner Klub e.V., Dr. Werner Petri, have contributed supporting statements to the Preface section.

Division Seven covers our WCA Delegation's visit to Holland for the Dutch Weimaraner Club Championship Breed Show and Retrieving Ratings Test, September 13th and 14th, 1997. These Weimaraner Club events were scheduled to follow the weekend of the centenary celebrations in Weimar, Germany. Many photographs, lithographs, paintings, graphics, hunting postcards and silhouettes will be utilized in the layout design. The Weimaraner Erinnerungsbuch will be a vital contribution to the Weimaraner Klub e.V. Archives.
